1. THE KEY RESULT AREAS OF THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:·
Qualitative/Desktop Literature Review/Research
o Conduct qualitative/desktop research on identified key thematic areas related to the project upon request from the project team.
· Data Collectiono Collect relevant information from various sources across South Africa, EC Province and from municipalities to inform the project milestones upon request from the project team.
· Stakeholder relationship building between the internal project team and external stakeholders
.o Develop and constantly update a multi-stakeholder matrix for the project
.o Forge relationships with various stakeholder’s key in realising project success within and outside the province· Organise Project Meetings, Workshops and Site visits.
o Organise all relevant internal and external stakeholder meetings, capacity building/training sessions, multi-stakeholder workshops and site visits according to the project workplan.
· Data Capturingo Capture data manually and electronically during all internal and external stakeholder project meetings, training sessions and multi-stakeholder workshops to guide the project milestones and inform ad-hoc performance reporting by the project team.
· Manage Project Scheduleo Closely watch the project implementation schedule to monitor deadlines and alert the project team about pending tasks due for implementation.
· Document Managemento Ensure that all crucial documents about the ECDC SLA (agreement, project milestones POEs, ad-hoc performance reports etc) are well maintained and safely stored on hard copy or electronic files, working with the Programme Administrator
· Identify Project Implementation Problems or Riskso Identify any potential emerging issues or risks to potentially affect the progression of projects and alert the project team members for timeous risk management.
· Report Writingo Write various project progress reports as guided by the project team.
OTHER TASKS OF THIS POSITION ARE FOLLOWS:
Undertake overall project co-ordination, secretarial and administrative work in support of the ECDC SLA to ensure successful of execution the project.
2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Management/ Commerce or Economics or Development Studies. A post graduate degree in Business Management/ Commerce or Economics or Development Studies.
Demonstratableknowledge of research methodologies Proficiency in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power point Project management skills Problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills. Ability to work in Teams. Communication Skills Report Writing Skills
3. EXPERIENCE·
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Research·
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with rural communities in the Eastern Cape Province·
Proven experience working in economic development or trade and investment promotion interventions.
· Excellent project management skills and Business acumen.
· Proven experience working with and supporting government departments or state entities or municipalities in the EC province.
· Awareness of the EC provincial landscape
· Knowledge and networking with relevant stakeholders preferable in the EC province.
· Experience in organising and coordinating project meetings and multi-stakeholder workshops.
4. EXTENT OF STAKEHOLDER NETWORK
Frequently liaison with:Enoch Mgijima, Matatiele and Port St. Johns (PSJ) Local Municipalities, including related District Municipalities and Municipal Entities Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) Relevant national and provincial sector departments, state-owned entities (SOEs) and local government/municipalities Private sector/business community Traditional leaders Non-Governmental Sector/Civil Society Organisations
5. WORKING CONDITIONS
· Willingness to travel frequently within and outside the province.
· Willingness to work under pressure.
· Willingness to meet tight deadlines.
· Willingness to work overtime when required.
