JOB DESCRIPTION

Hatch’s Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) Group is looking for a Civil Draftsperson to join the team.

The Civil Draftsperson will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services to a large project in its execution phase.

The Civil Draftsperson will be responsible for the production of civil drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Civil Designer.

The Civil Draftsperson will participates in a wide range of project elements that may cover road design, utilities (including pump stations), earthworks, drainage, villages and dams. We’re entrepreneurs with a technical soul.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Lead Civil Designer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule

• Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D CAD software as required

• Perform conceptual layout work under the supervision of the Lead Civil Designer

• Develop design details

• Check drawings prior to release

• Participation in formal engineering review processes

• Maintain coordination with designers and engineers within the civil discipline

• Incorporate safety in design.

3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL

• Engineering diploma (N Dip) or equivalent (civil/structural) with minimum 3 years of experience

• Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project

• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Good safety awareness.

PREFERRED

• Ability to delegate tasks and effectively supervise others

• Experience in the use of Hatch procedures, adopted standard software and workflows in the execution of projects
