JOB DESCRIPTION

Fault finding and repair of production equipment.

Proficient with Programmable Logic Controllers and Camera systems.

Must be able to write and make changes in control software.

Knowledge of electrical automation systems, variable speed and servo drives and motors.

Basic hydraulics and pneumatics.

Reading of electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics schematics.

Knowledge of basic computer components and networks.

Continuous improvement techniques.

Knowledge & troubleshooting of:

Laser Marking software package.

ABB & Festo Robot systems.

QLSCM system.

Troubleshoot and program Bosch & Atlas Copco tightening systems.

Bosch software packages such as: Indraworks Engineering, BS 350, DS drive 

Dataman, Cognex, EtherInspect Vision Systems

Jager TPS fault finding & teaching 

Siemens software packages such as: WinCC, Step 7, TIA, Starter and Sinumerik.

Cognex and Zebra scanner setup and interface with PLC

Different bus communication protocols and networking

GPTS and Siemens RFID and PLC interface.

Sciemetric testing systems and interfaces to PLC.

Promess Drives and Software packages.

Basic hand skills and knowledge of test equipment

G8D completion on breakdown exceeding 10min.

CCMD completion for breakdowns

Electrical drawing update in case of improvements done

Improvements to minimize the breakdowns & increase the R&M of the equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality of the PMs completion, 0 re-occurrences of issues after root cause identified.

Minimal MTTR to fix breakdown.

Adherence to company safety standards and always maintain work practices.

Minor PLC program modifications regarding Vision Systems and Networks.

Fault finding, repair and maintenance of production equipment.

Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Project work e.g., installations and decommissioning

Report writing e.g., failure analysis and record keeping

Maintenance and regular updating the electronic database of control software.

Maintain and control of electronic spares in the plant.

Assist with training of electricians and in-service trainees.

Knowledge sharing e.g., procedures and single point lessons

Champions machines top faults problem solving.

QUALIFICATIONS

3 years National Diploma in Mechatronics/Electronics Engineering or Trade certificate in Millwright /Electrical (N4).

2-3 years’ experience in Industrial Network system environment.

Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, Indraworks Engineering,

Proficient in MS Office 

ABB Robot systems. 

CNC machines fitted with Siemens and Bosch controls.
